Third of the Admiral Grigorovich class (Project 11356) frigates ‘Admiral Makarov’ completed sea trials, spokesman of Baltic Yantar Shipyard told TASS. The ship is equipped with Kalibr-NK cruise missiles as well as Shtil-1 missile system.
Admiral Makarov will soon join the Russian Navy’s Black Sea Fleet. The other two frigates of the same class, Admiral Grigorovich and Admiral Essen, were commissioned in 2016. Those frigates have served in the Russian Navy’s standing naval force in the Mediterranean Sea several times.
